My Cat has been experiencing a bad case of diaharea. As a result her poop tends to get everywhere and it gets pretty gnarly. Any good remedies for cat diahareah out there?

Yeah, get the cat to a vet ASAP and get her checked. Not only could it be bad news for the cat, it could be something really nasty causing it that's catching to other animals.

Adam, I urge you to get her to her doc right away. If the diarrhea continues for more than a day, she could get dehydreated and become very much worse. Paula Loniak, can you add to this?
Dian

Ditto. Diarrhea is more dangerous to cats than to humans or dogs because their normal diet is so much higher in protein
(--> more nitrogenous wastes--> kidney work) that they can't tolerate dehydration to the extent that we can.

change my cat's food whenever he gets diarrhea to a sensitive formular like Royal Canin sensitive stomach formular- my favorite brand to give him; It firms up the poops immediately.....However, you probably need to bring your cat to a vet to rule out more serious -possibly contagious to other cats- illnesses. Good luck! your cat is doing!Let us know how

I agree that your cat needs an exam by her vet. There are several reasons why she might have diarrhea, such as parasites, irritable bowel condition, dietary "indescretions" (eating creepy/yucky things), or even an allregy to the food she's being fed. So, first thing---get her checked out by your veterinarian, and bring a fresh (within 24 hours) stool sample with you, in a sealed plastic baggy (your don't need a quart of it, just about the size of a thimble-full). Be prepared to discuss her diet (what do you feed her?), when did the diarrhea start?, any other cats in your household & do they have diarrhea?, is she eating more (or less) than usual?, acting unusual in any other ways (quieter? painful/restless?)?, does she tend to eat little critters such as birds, lizards, rodents? think about all those things ( and anything else that might seem important----is she drinking more water than usual?---before heading to the vet clinic. Good luck, and don't waste any more time trying home remedies.
Smiles.

I heard on the news that Dog And Cat food was being recalled. Maybe you are using one of the recalled brands. Hope your cat gets better. Missy

All the more reason to have your cat examined by a veterinarian---some kidney and/or liver disease have been found in several dogs & cats, some have even died. So don't simply stop using those pet foods, have your pet checked out, possibly blood tests, etc, before the condition progresses to an irreversible condition.
