This is a fastinating site, on the history of Sonoma County and all its towns. I loved reading it. Tell me what you think!!

And.... if you wondered what they were wearing during that time of our founding fathers ... here is that link https://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=https://www.apparelsearch.com/definitions/DEFINITION%2520IMAGES/1861_Godey-april-1861.jpg&imgrefurl=https://www.apparelsearch.com/definitions/Fashion/1860_Fashion_History.htm&h=337&w=434&sz=56&hl=en&start=2&tbnid=auHrodQVbXk7LM:&tbnh=98&tbnw=126&prev=/images%3Fq%3D1861%2Bclothing%26gbv%3D2%26svnum%3D10%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DG

Very interesting indeed--thanks for posting this. I wonder where the town of Washington was? It's referenced in the introduction but not in the text.

It bears saying, of course, that people had been here for thousands of years before settlers of European extraction showed up. It's believed that the Laguna was one of the largest concentrations of people in North America at one time. Then, it was a paradise of elk, pronghorn, grizzly bear, millions of birds and abundant salmon and acorns.
