I do Reiki, Massage and Inutitive Counseling. I've done some work, but I really need 10 clients a week. I've put up flyers, handed out business cards as well as placing ads all over the internet.
Any ideas or suggestions??

A great way to help grow your business is by joining a networking group. Some of the benefits of joining a networking group are:
sharing ideas and getting good suggestions on business techniques that have worked or are working for others
referral of clients
a sense of community with other people with similar goals
leads on products, services and events that are of good use to you and your clients
meeting new people
I have started a group called the North Bay Holistic Practitioners Network (NBHPN). Our goal is to provide a supportive resource for practitioners dedicated to offering holistic services that promote a lifestyle that is gentle on the earth, spirit and body, as well as a directory for those seeking these types of services. We've been meeting since August of this past year. It is free to join, but you must apply and application does not ensure membership. Your membership would be subject to review first. For more information visit us online at www.freewebs.com/nbhpn (https://www.freewebs.com/nbhpn/index.htm).
Best wishes to you and your business endeavor.
Namaste.

Jill, How long have you been doing your practice for? How close are you to your goal of 10 clients per week? It has taken me about 3 or 4 years to get my Process Coaching practice to where I want it to be. I have found word of mouth most effective. Finding 2 or 3 clients who really like my work and help get their friends into it has served me more than all the flyering, e-mails, and business cards in the world.
The other thing I've done is found alternative sources of income to rely upon while I build my practice up. That has been a real life saver for me in allowing me to fulfill my dreams. I have substituted as a teacher, taught SAT prep, and been a private tutor. As my practice goes I phase out this other work.
Another potential idea is giving free introductory talks about your work. I have found Many Rivers the bookstore in Sebastopol useful in this regard. Let me know how it goes.

Larissa has some great suggestions. I'd like to add one. Having a flier and networking are tactical marketing and are important, but if your message isn't compelling, all the tactical marketing in the world won't help differentiate you.
What your message SAYS about you is very important, and it must clearly explain why you are a better solution than your prospective customers' other options. If you fail to do that, then why would someone choose to do business with you?
If you'd like to email or fax me a copy of your flier, I'll be glad to evaluate it and give you some feedback. Or visit my web site for additional information and some free marketing resources: https://www.newparadigmmarketing.com/
