:hello: Hey! I'm new to this area and am having a tough time meeting people who are available to hang out once in a while. I've given it 16 months of getting established and being patient and have met a lot of people and made a couple real friends, but none to hang with. The men I've met are either unavailable or I'm not interested in dating. (You know how that goes! Ya can't hang out with 'em very long before that whole, "I really meant it when I said we're only friends" conversation ends the friendship.) Sooooo, I'm without a social group. I miss my girls from the east coast and would love to find a group of fun contemporary smart independent women to have fun with.

I'm out of the 20's party scene but still love dancing, hearing live music, mixing with people, going for a beer or watching a football game, etc. I have been going out sometimes with my own bad self, but I'm getting bored with just me, and it puts a lot of pressure on the bartenders! So, I need a crew. I have no kids. Not married. But most the women my age are both (which probably explains why I can't find friends to play with..) I'm also straight, active, workout a lot, turn heads sometimes, love outside stuff, camping etc, talking politics or movies, etc.. College grad. (communication). I went camping by myself to Yosemite last summer and loved it but would've had more fun with friends. I met a bunch of people to talk to in camp, but explored alone. It gets old.
( Also, I loved "Sex in the City" and can sooo identify with those characters... the age group, their single-ness...and I'm jealous of their make believe social lives! ) So, lets get a few fabulous people out for margaritas some afternoon and see if we can't have some fun?

:)::hello::lol2::wink::hmmm:Here's a crew to get you started!
Well I;m in a different age group, different gender..but I'll toss this out there anyway! do you like to Dance ? this has always been my crew finding technique . Sebastopol and Santa Rosa are just about the dance capital of the world. I'm not talking about dating, just freestyle and fun dancing. I wish I could give you all the schedules for all the dances, but essentially, they happen at the community center, the teen center next door, and Wieshman?sp? hall next door to that! Mostly they are on Fridays first, second or third etc. there are also classes at the com. cntr. and at three different dance centers in Santa Rosa. there's a Friday nite dance in Petaluma they send me their e mails.

What I usually do is go to the community center on Friday, (at the end of Morris st) if nothings going on there I go to Cotati where there are four clubs,or the Black Cat in Pengrove etc. of course this is a guy tactic, you would need to take along a girl friend I imagine to go "Clubbing" unless you are very bold.
At the free spirit type dances (Sweat your prayers,Soal motion,Dance Jamm)there are circles where you learn peoples names and people announce events and even parties.

If you meet a certain nice local gal she e mails EVERYBODY about LOTS of great parties,I've only been here less than a year and I've found there is an EVERYBODY around here, and you can be part of it ,it's NOT cliquey and you will see them all saying hi and laughing at Whole Foods or the Park or the Farmers Mkt.
Ace in the Hole is a non boozy fun place for music, occasional dancing and meeting "everybody" Good luck!
If you DO like dancing feel free to call me,on a Friday
