Here's my version of the letter to Paul Howard, a DA in Georgia, on the subject of the two brothers who baked a puppy to death. I've lived in the South, and probably guys who would do a thing like this in their teens are such bubbas that even murderers aren't going to want to mess with them. However, i corresponded for about a year with Carl Harp, who got separate housing for young &/or apparently gay men set up at the Walla Walla prison and was therefore killed by prison guards when they found out he was about to be released. And the very finest young men in the Viet Nam era US were subjected to two to five years of torture for refusing to pour napalm over little children. So i mention the principle of men's prison segregation every chance i get.

I understand that the maximum penalty allowable under state law for these crimes is currently a five year prison term and
a $15,000 fine for each defendant. This punishment is insufficient given the sadistic nature of this particular case. While I
hope that there will be no other similarly heinous crimes against animals in Georgia, prosecutors should have the tools at
their disposal to hold violators accountable and deter future acts of abuse.
As you probably know, cruelty to animals in youth is one of the strongest indicators that an individual will later commit homicidal violence against humans. The Molder brothers need to learn now that violence against anyone, human or non-, will not be tolerated. Serving these young men a stiff sentence will ensure they pay for the pain they caused and the innocent life they remorselessly took and help prevent future cases of animal abuse in Georgia.
The nominal mission of a "correctional facility" is to correct horrible behavior, not to make it worse. To this end, I also encourage prison administrators to put young men, like these two, as well as men who appear to be gay, into cells with each other, where they won't
be raped. I realize prison guards oppose such protection, since it takes an outlet away from the most violent inmates and makes them harder for the guards to handle. In that case, I believe the logical thing to do is to also house those ultra-violent prisoners together.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
I wish you a very happy New Year.

So, if I read what you are saying correctly, you support putting violent rapists in the same cell so that they can assault and abuse each other. Where is the "logic" in that?

Please give a warning in your title when you post something so violently graphic.

You don't. I forgot how little contact a lot of people, even on the Left, have had with prisoners.
But if you think for a minute, you can figure it out for yourself: What's another word for a bully?
A coward. So is one rapist going to take on another super-violent thug?

Fair enough. I will.
