Sad news,

From Sunil Sharma, editor of DissidentVoice, definitely check out the
YouTube video (link at the end of the following selection):

"I don't really care what people think . . . I just do my own thing.... I
like being loud and letting people know I'm there."

-- James Brown (1933-2006)

Editor's Note: For me, this holiday season took a terrible turn today. James
Brown, the Godfather of Soul and funk, a stone cold genius and towering icon
of American music, passed away this morning from congestive heart failure
due to severe pneumonia. James Brown is one of my biggest musical
influences. I last saw him perform at The Paramount in Oakland, CA in 2000.
He and his band blew the opening act -- Tower of Power -- off the stage. At
age 67, he was getting down and boogying like he was still in his 30s.
Here's a great video clip of Brown that guitar maker Jim Soloway in Oregon
brought to my attention: https://youtube.com/watch?v=PmbBMiwJMrc (https://youtube.com/watch?v=PmbBMiwJMrc)
