I am noticing in almost ALL OF THE TOPICS that NO ONE IS VISITING MUCH since about 2 weeks ago. Most of the posts appear to be 2 WEEKS AGO, 6 WEEKS AGO.

A change seems warranted... SOMETHING IS WRONG. No one is checking out the WaccoBB.net anymore. I am disappointed.

Life is Full!!! Speaking for myself, I have been watching and reading and enjoying elsewhere. Besides, there is no controversy happening presently to respond to!

Carl.

One of the many drawbacks of the bulletin board format is that users must refresh their browser's cache (either manually or automatically) to stay 'up-to-date.' From what you describe, this sounds like what's going on with your computer. Try hitting the "refresh" button and/or clearing your cache and see if that helps. Also, if you're not doing so already I'd highly recommend switching to the Firefox browser (https://www.mozilla.org).

Thanks Bob: I am using FIREFOX. I will do as you said and clear the cache. I can't see any REFRESH button. I have seen it somewhere but not at this point.

In Firefox, you can also add the "New Posts" link to your "Bookmarks Toolbar Folder."
Here's the text of the URL you want to use (set this using "Properties" in "Manage Bookmarks"):

https://www.waccobb.net/forums/search.php?do=getnew
https://www.waccobb.net/forums/search.php?do=getnew

You can also do in kind with the "Marked Read" link (however for reasons that escape me, Barry has set this to result to the WaccoBB home page!...
Hopefully he'll change it back to stay on the "New Posts" page where it belongs - and soon):

https://www.waccobb.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?do=markread

I still can't figure out an easy way to use this board. Can't there be a "new Posts" subscription category so I don't have to flip back and forth between all the subscribed categories to read anything. Also, I hate having to get onto the internet (I don't have DSL) and log in if I want to reply to anything. This sure doesn't seem easier to me.
I am also using the "other" wacco and most people seem to post on both of these sites anyway. And the other one is a heck of a lot easier to read! It takes a minute to skim the digest vs. back and forth, back and forth with this set up.
Barry, I think you're great but this does not seem to be an improvement.

There is a "New Posts" option on the top menu bar as well on on the top of the category navigation section below it.

You can also subscribe for a daily digest for any or all categories. At the moment you need to visit each category you want and click "subscribe to the category". In the future there will be an easier way. But its only a one-time process.

Also in the future you will be able to respond directly to indiviudal emails and the digest will include the email address so you can reply privately from there too.

You shouldn't need to log back in when you visit the website. Are you logging out? If so, dont!

And, it may be that some people prefer the YahooGroup at the moment. This service will get better over time.

You can also <right click>refresh with a PC. Bob, what's the Mac equivalent?
