An alternative to car travel to Davis from Sonoma County is the Amtrak Bus/Train.
(800) 872-7245. Call for exact schedule times & stops and to make a reservation.
There are at least three buses daily each way between Santa Rosa (w/McKinleyville as origin & terminous)
and Martinez, where you jump a train for points east, west, and south.
Time is slower than driving (from 2-3 hours each way Davis-to-'Rosa)
and a bit more expensive than the cost of gas ($16 each way as of last year).
But hey, at least you get to ride a TRAIN!
I also need to get to Davis soon (you did not specify a time frame).
I'll give you a buzz if i can't make the train.
