I know the forum won't be up a lot longer, but I thought I'd report an issue I've been seeing in the past couple or few weeks.

Following links from email message notifications to the website occasionally redirect to an apparent scam website through possibly multiple redirects.

I've intentionally made the links not clickable in this post.

Usually (maybe always) I tap the website/reply link on an email when it happens. Certainly only happens with links from WaccoBB message notifications and seems random, though retrying seems to always work without the redirection, so maybe it tracks if the user has been redirected recently already and doesn't do it again... Has not occurred with any non-WaccoBB links or emails, or other web browsing of mine.

For example, it just occurred when I clicked "Website/reply" to a message with the following Website/reply URL:
https:// www. waccobb.net/forums/showthread.php?p=240440#post240440

The first URL in the redirect trail I was able to capture was:
https:// affiliates.natifico112.com/click?pid=1276&offer_id=2802&sub1=wacc#post240440

Usually I don't see that URL, because it redirects quickly and I'm using a mobile device, so I can't easily debug what's happening—but this time Firefox seems to have blocked loading it.

That URL redirects to (at least ultimately):
https:// abra-sua-conta.site/prela/8175b822/view.i?url=https%3A%2F%2Ftracking.alerience.com%2Foffer-camp%2F37a079fa-a52bf0fa-7aaaf991-ca2e-64b0%2F44c9a470-ee361232-8088694f-ad3e-51ef%3Ftx_id%3DD2021012409-b6480deba4cf4ab727d0afb6cfbf71f9%26offer_id%3Db2a38b24-47320aff-21a14415-a132-1311%26Subid%3D1276%26sub_pubid%3Dwacc

Which appears as follows:
50883

This seems to be the same site every time.

Is it possible something on waccobb.net or a service used by waccobb.net is causing this?

Thanks!! :waccosun:

Thanks for your report, Asa. I am aware of this issue. I assure it is nothing we are intentionally doing. Being that it's hard to repeat this issue, it's been hard to track down. And being that the site is closing, I'm not going to work on it further. Sorry. If you don't click on any of the scam links, it's probably harmless.

This is another good reason to switch over to the new Townsy Cafe (https://www.townsycafe-westcounty.com/)!
