Here is a YouTube Video that may help explain why America is in such a nightmarish political situation of sharply contrasted bipolar and virtually unsolvable differences in politics and the apparent RW 'Fundamentalist' takeover and resurgence of a kind of fascism that has seems to have sprouted and is starting to take root.

Note: This video was made and posted to YouTube before Supreme Cort Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg (https://news.cornell.edu/stories/2020/09/supreme-court-justice-ruth-bader-ginsburg-54-dies) died and was replaced by Trump appointed Amy Coney Barrett (https://www.npr.org/2020/09/28/917827735/a-look-at-amy-coney-barretts-record-on-abortion-rights).

Are you aware, Hotspring44, that there is a faction of Evangelicals in Amerika - a very small faction - {perhaps only fifteen percent of the sum total of "American evangelicals"} who don't buy the hogwash of American Exceptionalism (https://www.antipasministries.com/other/article066.htm) ? -Who think that Amerika itself is "Babylon the Great (https://www.antipasministries.com/html/file0000222.htm)" of the Book of Revelation; that the apostate (https://www.antipasministries.com/html/file0000168.htm)"Christian Church" in Amerika in the latter days is the "Great Whore (http:// https://www.antipasministries.com/newantipaspapersrev1/chapter13.htm)" that rides the Beast (http:// https://www.antipasministries.com/search.htm)?

Back in 2004 I met some of these people when I attended a dinner party up in the Santa Cruz mountains at the house of a carpenter who was a member of a small group. At that party I met a very articulate individual, the late Steve Shearer, the author of the "Antipas Papers (https://www.antipasministries.com/newantipaspapersrev1/toc.htm)"...

Speaking strictly for myself, I would say that the late Steve Shearer is / was a far better informed observer of the phenomenon of the so-called "Christian Right (https://www.antipasministries.com/html/file0000052.htm)" than the talking head in the video you have offered us, above. At the very least, Shearer was far more familiar with the terrain.
