Here is Dr. Campbell's November Pandemic Update. It is a world-wide update. 11/01/20.

I want to talk about the Stanford study of COVID-19 spread due to the President's rallies. I have looked at several sources for this, but I have not yet seen the study itself. First, it was a study done by Stanford economists. The lead author and chair of Stanford’s economics department (B. Douglas Bernheim) spoke with the New York Times, and he said, “The motivation for this paper is that there is a debate that is raging about the trade-off between the economic consequences of restrictions [vs] the health consequences of transmission." The researchers looked at 18 rallies between June 20th and September 30th. These non-mask-wearing events “produced increases in confirmed cases of more than 250 per 100,000 residents.” This means 30,000+ new cases traced to the rallies. They reported 700+ deaths as a result. The big news about the deaths is that many of them were people who did NOT attend the rallies. Those people got sick because they were exposed to someone who went to the rallies. More on this when I can actually take a look at the source material.

Here is today's COVID-19 update from Dr. Campbell. 11/03/20.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ThxsLChJykc&t=11s

More than 9.29 million Americans have contracted COVID-19 according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University. 231,000 have died. Still a very small percentage of the total population. Very, very far from any kind of "herd immunity."

Here is Dr. Campbell's latest COVID-19 update. This one is another look at women who are pregnant and their COVID-19 risks. 11/05/20.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6khzva4xY8g

A new Yale epidemiology study reported in The Lancet suggests that Medicare For All "will save Americans more than $450 billion annually (a 13% savings in national health-care expenditure) and prevent 68,000 deaths every year." No specific relationship of this to the COVID pandemic, per se, but that is where the need is particularly needed right now.

Here is today's COVID-19 update from Dr. Campbell. A new mutated COVID virus is infecting millions of mink in Denmark. 11/06/20.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3QvvMDw6YQw

The virus is spreading to humans. It is highly contageous. And this could mean current vaccines will not be effective against the new strain. But, we don't know yet. No published papers yet - it's happening right now.

Here is Dr. Campbell's latest COVID-19 update. This one begins with a U.S. update. Then, the U.K., more about virus mutations, and even more about Vitamin D. 11/9/20.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iuYCG8A7KTc

We now have had 10 million cases of COVID-19 in the U.S. with a sharply rising curve. Still a very, very small percentage of the total population. "Herd Immunity" is very far away. ~1000 people dying every day.

The Pfizer vaccine is ~90% effective according to reports. Meanwhile, a study in Maine says that COVID screening using only fever and active symptoms is a lousy way to screen people. Well...if I say so myself...duh!

Here are two brief COVID-19 updates from Dr. Campbell. The first one looks at what the next year is going to look like, and a bit about the coming vaccines. The second one looks at the five things you can do to not catch COVID with indoors with others. (Guess what that are...) 11/15/20.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=smm_ZvJqJk4

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h8K4y7ROCqc&t=185s

Two new international studies published in Science suggests that the reason some people die from COVID and others don't has to do with autoantibodies (or, and autoimmune response) triggered by the virus, and a smaller percentage don't have the genes to adequately produce the body's natural interferon to fight off the virus. This is not actually new information, but it's a new study looking at more than 100 patients.

Here is today's COVID-19 update from Dr. Campbell. He reviews the scientific published data about the two new vaccines being reported about. 10/16/20.

The news about the two vaccines is pretty optimistic.

Meanwhile, a recent study from Granada suggests dogs may transmit COVID-19. This is the first and only such finding. But, keep it in mind.

Here is today's COVID-19 update from Dr. Campbell. This update looks at the statistics about the value of intervening re: the COVID surge VS the damage done by not intervening. Some emphasis on the U.S. 11/17/20.

A brief COVID-19 update from Dr. Campbell. This one looks at some data about the Pfizer vaccine results. 11/18/20.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Kb1exHnDcQ

Looks like it really works. Safety trials look good so far, but it's still early in the process. Remember that prior to COVID-19, the fastest we ever got a good vaccine was the one for measles. That one took 4 years to develop.

This is today's COVID-19 update from Dr. Campbell. This one looks at the U.S., then some about ventilation, vaccines, and some more general information. 11/20/20.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aYbO7c0Kgyw

There is a new study in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) that suggests the antidepressant fluvoxamine (Luvox) causes a better hospital course in a significant number of COVID-19 patients. Less severe respiratory problems. Now, fluvoxamine is a selective serotonin re-uptake inhibitor (SSRI). It actually was the first one world-wide, though fluoxetine (Prozac) was the first one released in the U.S. There are a number of SSRI's now. They raise serotonin levels all through the body, and not much else directly. In fact most, but not all, antidepressants raise serotonin levels, though others also have other effects, such as raising norepinephrine (nor-adrenaline) levels, and maybe also dopamine. It's been known for some time that any drug that has a strong serotonin effect has an aspirin-like effect on blood platelets, making them less sticky, and they help to prevent heart disease and stroke. So, there is every reason to think that if this new finding is actually true about Luvox, then it's likely to also be true of all of the SSRIs, and maybe all antidepressants that raise serotonin levels. So, if you are taking one, that's a good thing right now with regards to COVID.

Here are a couple of updates on COVID-19 From Dr. Campbell. The first one looks at the U.S., issues about ventilation, the Oxford vaccine, and the severe inflammatory reaction to COVID seen in children. The second one is an interview about upcoming vaccines...in December? 11/21/20.

I am blown away by the news today that the U.S. has more than 195,500 new COVID cases diagnosed since YESTERDAY! This is what were were expecting, but it's still mind-bogling. Will our medical facilities be ready in 2 to 3 weeks to take care of those who will need hospitalization? There is a massive surge going on right now all over the world. We've currently had 250,000+ people die in this country. We are now expecting that many again in the next few months. And Thanksgiving hasn't even happened yet.

WHAT YOU CAN DO: WEAR A MASK. SOCIAL DISTANCE. WASH YOUR HANDS. If everyone did these things, lockdowns and shutdowns would NOT be necessary.

A study at Duke University tested 14 kinds of masks. They found the N95 mask and multi-layed cotton masks are best in keeping you safe. Non-cotton masks and bandanas are not all that effective. Note that the N95 does protect YOU, but it does NOT protect others from you.
