Large Breed Dog Wanted

We are looking for a family dog, semi retired winemakers, active forty year old son will come take on hikes several times weekly with eighteen year old daughter. Nice home on 4 acres in the country, owned the home for over twenty years and are very settled in. Rarely travel, but son also would be very involved in the dog's life and board dog during travel. Looking for a pretty laid back dog, social, barks at strangers but not aggressive and no history of biting issues. Age 6 month-5 year preferred. Housebroken preferred, prefer low to medium energy, not hyper or high energy. Dog will be indoors and a member of the family, and very well cared for by very responsible family. Great home for right dog.

Have you tried the local shelters and rescue organizations? They know their critters pretty well and can help you find a good match.

Check out Milo Foundation -- milofoundation.org....well worth paying the adoption fee for a dog that's had shots and pretty thorough vet check.

They have lots of bigger dogs on the website. There's a beautiful female St. Bernard and lots of pretty shepherd mixes. The 'high content' huskies, shepherds, and guarding breeds are gorgeous but can be a real handful.
