Happy John Lennon Day!

John Lennon was the main motive force behind the Beatles, and the Beatles' music saved my life when I was 13. I'd been having increasingly frequent and severe panic attacks for five years, my father had just ended a year of molesting me, and I was talking myself out of suicide about every twenty minutes all the time I was awake. The healing and freedom the Beatles brought me positioned me to spend the past 55 years working with the Left, preparing me (as much as that's possible) to help deal with the current adbomination. I bless and thank John, Paul, George and Ringo--plus Brian, plus Ed Sullivan, plus George Martin--every time I think of them.

I’ll add that in the past month or so we’ve seen the 50th anniversary of the passing of both Janis Joplin and Jimi Hdndrix- who, like Lennon, touched- and continue to touch many lives.

Thank you for your gratitude. And, yes, Joplin and Hendrix are two more who brought a great amount of beauty into this world.
