For those preferring to watch and listen rather than read the META ANALYSIS of studies on the usefulness V uselessness of wearing masks, here you are.

As Americans turn against each other over mask mandates, many scientists are speaking out, including former professor of physics at the University of Ottawa, Denis Rancourt, PhD, who just released a paper compiling seven studies on the science surrounding the effectiveness of masks. #AntiMaskers (https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=%23AntiMaskers)#MasksWork (https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=%23MasksWork)#Coronavirus (https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=%23Coronavirus)#Covid19 (https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=%23Covid19)#Health (https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=%23Health)#Lockdown

To rebut, please compile and share the studies which attest to the efficacy of masks.
I look forward to seeing that, if it exists of course. Jude

No compilation of promask studies are needed. The truth is wearing a mask helps other people feel safe. That's why I wear one. What I find fascinating is the different mask culture depending on location. Wall Mart? The farmers market? Trader Joe's? Bike trails? Regional parks? City sidewalks? I love the nose exposed style, though it's also kind of disgusting. And the masks with exhale vent ports, my wife wears one, wtf? My most frequent shop, home depot, a significant number were on the chin!

I've looked at recent studies, a completely different set than your citation, pro and con. Pro mask most frequently demonstrate that wearing one limits the distance of humid exhale. There are numeric studies which make a lot of assumptions and are quite complicated. The masks are meaningless studies are usually numeric comparisons of regionally similar areas with different mask requirements, much easier to understand!

The plain and simple answer is that there is ample evidence that they are both wrong and "selfish".

The American Culture War (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Culture_war#United_States) is undoubtedly strongly at play here today. If you don't believe so just consider the last few weeks of news reports and Trumps Rally at Mt. Rushmore SD (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQOErcg_ask).
