Spirit Rock, but it's in San Geronimo, Marin County. If there is something like Spirit Rock around the Sebastopol area, I'd also like to know.

Spirit Rock is about an hour from Sebastopol. www.spiritrock.org (http://www.spiritrock.org)
I go there frequently and would be happy to carpool if anyone else is going. Lots of great programs...I mostly go to day-longs. There used to be local Vipassana meditation groups organized through spirit rock, but I don't see them listed on the web site anymore. Don't know if I can fit it into my week, but I'd be willing to discuss the possibility of forming a sitting group.

My hope is to have a weekly sit/share that's close enough (I live in Rio Nido & work in Healdsburg) to be realistic to attend regularly. If a few more people reply, perhaps we could start one... I'll set the intention, let's see what happens...

There are several Zen meditation groups in West County. There’s Stone Creek Zendo in Graton, & Bruce Fortin’s Zen Meditation group in Sebastopol, & I think Bruce’s wife has a meditation group for women. Zen of course is not Vipassana … however… that’s like saying a kiss is not a smooch.

There are several local sitting groups referenced on Spirit Rock’s website. Look under “Programs” (https://www.spiritrock.org/programs), then “Non residential programs”, then “Community”.

I found these sitting groups referenced:

Kalayana Metta in Sebastopol 3rd Sunday 5:15-7:30 pm, led by Beverly McArthur
In Santa Rosa, Lomi Climic,Thurs 6:30-8, led by Thomas Pope
In Santa Rosa, Lomi Clinic, Sun 6:30-8, led by Patrick Thorton

Good luck …
