I WOULD SO LOVE TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN HERE!
I went to the initial presentation but you can still join us to create great, REAL communites. Jude
Hello,
If you are receiving this, it is because you signed in at the Northwest Library's "People Powered Housing" presentation by East Bay Permanent Real Estate Cooperative (http://ebprec.org/) (EBPREC) ... about how people of color and allied communities can cooperatively finance, purchase, and occupy properties, taking them permanently off the speculative market.
Gregory, who gave the presentation has informed me that EBPREC is looking at the possibility of expanding the PREC model into the North Bay. He sent this message (in purple, below) for me to send along to people who attended the library program:
The East Bay Permanent Real Estate Cooperative is exploring its first expansion by hosting a webinar with Residents from Sonoma County to gauge interest in starting a new real estate cooperative based in Santa Rosa. To begin a successful PREC we must gather individuals interested in tenant organizing, housing cooperatives, land trusts, community investment, and worker ownership.
If your organization can provide institutional support or you would like to be one of the founding staff owners, please RSVP with Greg Jackson <[email protected] ([email protected])> to join the conversation on Friday, August 9th from 2-4pm.
I'm looking forward to see what grassroots organizers in the North Bay build together. The People-Powered Housing program was part of the ongoing PLANET PEOPLE POWER series. The next program in the series is a REPAIR PARTY on August 31st. Below is a program description and volunteer recruitment. Hope you can help spread the word:
Northwest Library at Coddingtown Mall in Santa Rosa is SEEKING VOLUNTEERS for Planet People Project's (http://tiny.cc/planetpeopleproject) upcoming ....REPAIR PARTY (http://tiny.cc/righttorepair), August 31, 2019: 2-5pm
