The two-day class covers in the fundamentals of furniture making, using time-honored joinery, taught in a supportive shop environment with a maximum of 12 women. We will begin building a bench that can be used as seating for up to 2 people or as a small table.
Learn to use traditional woodworking hand tools; chisels, dovetail saws, bench and block planes, drills.
Make mortise and tenon joinery with tusk wedges and foxtail wedges
Develop the skills and understand the process of building furniture with traditional joinery.
Class fee is $275- plus a $25- materials fee All tools are supplied.
Debey Zito, a professional furniture maker who has who has been designing, building and teaching furniture making for over 40 years, is the instructor.
Upon completion, a monthly Saturday and/or Sunday class is available.
The studio is in Sebastopol, one hour north of the Golden Gate Bridge.
