A few quick thoughts:
- I wish each candidate had a chance for introductory remarks rather that having to weave it into a subsequent question.
47081- Beto shot himself in the foot by starting off in spanish to answer a question that wasn't particularly spanish related (such as immigration). I sure wish he would drop out now and run for John Cornyn's Texas senate seat!
- Warren did fine, but she didn't strike me as advancing her cause much. And she never said "big structural change"
- OTOH, and think a lot of people will take notice of Julian Castro for the first time.I also got a better sense of Booker.
- De Blasio put his brash New Yorker energy to good use.
But overall, it was too scattershot. One of the best moments was when they all got to answer what is the biggest threat at the moment (my answer is climate change... but I'll also give full credit for Donald J Trump!)
They need fewer candidates and focused topic areas. Could even be two or three topic areas for a debate, but not everything!
