Last night, from midnight until 8:34am I received a Digest about every 6 - 8 minutes.
What's up with that?

Me too, even though I'm not subscribed to anything.... And, the emails continue (still going as of this posting). Any idea how to stop it?

What's up with that? Sorry about that! The problem has been fixed. It only effected users with usernames beginning with C, D or E. More later...

Hi Everybody, especially users whose username starts with "D" (and cysmith4),

Please accept my sincere apologies that the system sent you about 150 Digests last night! This problem has been fixed and shouldn't happen again.

The problem was an artifact of the Digest problems we had before switching servers a month or so ago. The daily digest is sent out via a scheduled program. Before we switched servers, that program started to hit a time limit and then was halted. So I had to go in and make temporary programs to send out the digest to the people who didn't get it.

Well I forgot to delete one of those temporary programs. It was set to send the digest to all users with usersnames starting with a D. It was also set to run continuously once it started due to my error.

I must have changed the started date on the program to 10/10/2006 just to get it out of way (I sometimes reused/edited the program for the next night when the program was halted again). So that date finally rolled around and BAM!

Needless to say, I deleted that program for good this time!

Then, just to add insult to injury, when I went to send an email to just the users who received the multiple copies (usernames starting with D) the email program interpreted my command as any username that CONTAINS a D. So lots of you got unneeded apologies. :evg:

Thanks for your understanding,

Barry

It never does just what I want
But only what I tell it!
