No one wants to go into two hours of unfamiliar Christmas music unprepared. So...here comes the preparation. I predict that, at the end of the show, you'll look sullenly at your friends and relatives, and say "Well, Roland did his best. Think he's a Christian?" Hmmmm. Let that question remain unanswered...until at least a few days after Christmas.

This year, among several varieties of Yultetide magic, you'll be treated (courtesy of your humble host) to:

Santa Claus Is Coming to Town by the Elvin Jones Quintet, guaranteed to be on vinyl.

Roland Kirk's fascinating version of We Free (not Three) Kings, played by the man who could play three reed instruments at the same time.

Eartha Kitt's Santa Baby, from her immortal Purr-Fect album.

O Holy Night by the Full Faith and Credit Big Band

and, with local artists in mind, The Sorrentinos with Beatnik Christmas.

Oh, that's right. I almost forgot to wish all of you Norcal Public Media (a.k.a. KRCB-FM) listeners a joyous and peaceful Christmas.

Wow! Elvin Jones Quartet--he's one of my all time favorites!

Though I Love Eartha Kitt, that song, "Santa Baby" totally annoys me--over the top materialistic!

Thanks, Roland !
And--
I wish you Happy Meaningful Holidays, Deep Peace and Inner Happiness with Justice for All!
Dusty
