This is what happens when a Sonoma County Alliance candidate is challenged. The big money comes out to defeat the challenger.. In this case you have the expenditures by "Friends of John Sawyer for Council 2018." They are paying for mailers. It should be noted that the Sonoma County Democratic Party endorsed Lee Pierce. Yet this mailer was sent out, a "Democratic Voter Guide" which says to vote for John Sawyer. It also says to vote for Republican-backed Marshal Tuck.

Note how this mailer was sent to Lee Pierce himself. They were not smart enough to delete his name from the address list.

The pdf attachment, Friends of John Sawyer 2018, is the filed form 460 disclosure statement. It shows some $16k raised and payments to various campaign related businesses such as the one that does these misleading mailers, Voter Guide Slate Cards of Long Beach. Hopefully you'll open the pdf and see the names of some of the donors. many of those names are easily recognizable.
