Dear Park Supporters,

Our parks need help! You can make the difference by volunteering this weekend to help the Yes on M campaign reach voters. To get the supermajority (66.67%) needed to win Measure M and offer our local parks the support they require, we must reach as many voters as we can.

It’s not too late to volunteer this weekend! Will you join us for door-to-door outreach in West Santa Rosa on Sunday? We’ll have coffee and a short training, head out to speak with voters, and reconvene for lunch.

With this in mind, we need your help to galvanize more organizations in this way. This means asking the organizations you know and love to play a role in our campaign by:

Hosting a phone bank
Spreading our message via email and social media with staff, members, and volunteers
Sharing contact lists with the campaign to help us communicate with more supporters
Volunteering and helping us recruit volunteers
Placing a Parks for All “button” on the homepage to link to our website

Are you connected to an organization that may be willing to help us? If so, please contact us at [email protected]

([email protected])Many of you have already supported our campaign to protect and maintain our cherished local parks. You’ve contributed financially. You’ve posted a sign. You’ve walked precincts. You’ve made phone calls. Thank you for your hard work and dedication thus far. Please help keep this momentum going to cross the finish line on November 6th!

I do not support this measure. And I am NOT against parks. We pay so many taxes in so many ways that this is just an end run to use our 'other' taxes for things like retirement programs for county employees, etc. I pay a tax to get to the park, I pay a tax to get into many parks.

More than 50% of this money will go to Santa Rosa whose Parks and Recreation mismanages the moneys they already receive and then charges seniors "membership" fees to access 'privileged' areas in buildings. One mis-management that I witnessed was that of the Bennett Valley Senior Center now closed due to Parks and Rec. mis-management. We seniors raised over $25,000 and 3,000 citizen signatures to keep that building open and they immediately dumped the money into the pit (general fund) and repairs on the building languished, as did the seniors who can no longer access this building IN THEIR NEIGHBORHOOD.

Be assured that the same things will happen throughout the county: our taxes will pay to fence out the unwanted patrons and will be used to erect kiosks so fees can be charged for us to use OUR PARKS.
