44546"Gentlemen, I too am a Kentuckian": My View From the South" This is the book that is now on the front burner for me. The quote is from President Abraham Lincoln, included in a speech he was going to give but didn't.
America is at a crossroads. Will we save democracy, truth-telling, the rule of law, our constitution? I am happy to share the introduction.

Yes, Jo. do share it. Great quote from Honest Abe. I was born on his birthday, Feb. 12th, in 1946 in Galveston, Texas and my original first name was Lynn for him--even though my parents weren't particularly liberal. And I didn't realize how segregated and racist my environment was until 1964 when I went off to college at UT Austin and got involved with all kinds of lefty movements. Changed my first name to Lilith in the 90's and moved Lynn to my middle name. Still very connected to it.
