Three seats on the Sebastopol City Council will be on the ballot this November (currently held by Mayor Patrick Slayter (https://ci.sebastopol.ca.us/City-Government/City-Council/Council-Members/Patrick-Slayter) and Councilmembers Sarah Glade Gurney (https://ci.sebastopol.ca.us/City-Government/City-Council/Council-Members/Sarah-Glade-Gurney-City-Councilmember) and Una Glass (https://ci.sebastopol.ca.us/City-Government/City-Council/Council-Members/Mayor-Una-Glass)). I have not heard anything about whether or not they intend to run for re-election.

Now's the time to start thinking about whether YOU (or someone you know) wants to run for Sebastopol City Council. The timeframe to file candidate paperwork (https://ci.sebastopol.ca.us/City-Government/Elections-Voting) begins tomorrow, July 16, 2018 and runs through August 10, 2018. If the incumbent City Councilmember fails to file, the timeframe will be extended to August 15, 2018.

My understanding from talking to Michael is that he is unlikely to run again. If any of you are inclined to run for this important office, please do so.

According to the Sonoma West Times and News, (https://www.sonomawest.com/sonoma_west_times_and_news/news/election-filing-deadline-looms/article_f317ef70-95d8-11e8-a762-13af76076591.html) all three incumbents have pulled papers to file to run for re-election, but there are no challengers! I think all three councilmembers are serving us well and I support them. However, having at least one challenger sure would make the race more interesting! :waccosun:

In addition to the 3 incumbents running for re-election ( Patrick Slayter, Sarah Glade Gurney, Una Glass) Vaughn Higginbotham has also qualified for the November Sebastopol City Council election!

I'll post more info about Vaughn as it becomes available.
