I need help with how to get my PG&E bill straighten out with unusual high charges.
There is no way in heck I use $500 a month even $300 a month.
Please, does anyone know a way I can clear this matter up?

Some questions:
What have your recent bills been? How does your present usage shown on the bill differ from previous months? Last year at the same time period?
Are you up to date on payments? Is your usage "estimated"? Does anyone in the home have a medical condition? Have you created a paper trail with PGE? Even email counts. Phone calls don't.....
This is something that may help:

Keep track of those phone calls; they certainly CAN "count." Make a written record of the number you called, the time and date, who you spoke with, and the substance of the conversation, particularly with respect to the results: what you asked for and what the PG&E representative said would happen next. Your telephone service provider can provide evidence of the time and date of calls you made or received and the number you called, or that was used to call you. AND . . . PG&E will also have internal records documenting the calls.
Good luck!

last summer
i went to the PG&E office
twice
to handle my landlady's account
they were helpful in explaining things to me
and what remedies could be possible
i don't remember lowering our bill tho
tho i was able to do that w/ our Comcast
about 15 or more hours on the phone
over a series of days~
i would go to the office
which was recommended to me
rather than phone~
If you are a farmer as your name implies, you most likely are using a lot of water in these months. And water requires electricity if you're on a well. :2cents:

Farmer Jean, Actually if you are drip irrigating your electricity bill should increase maybe 10.00 per month. I had a huge electric bill in Jan-Feb. and found out that my pressure tank was not working..so well was turning on everytime we used water...Also, if you have opted out of smart meter they will "guess" how much usage you have and then credit you next month. It may also be an appliance that is drawing extra, there are kits you can rent at the library to monitor usage of electricity..good luck.

Hello Jean,
My specialty is energy conservation measures.
You can contact me at
[email protected] and perhaps I can help you save energy to lower your pge bill .
My advice would be to look back 12 months if you can and send them at least a one month average payment. Usually, they won't cut you off if they see some reasonable attempt to get caught up.
Are you sure it is all electric usage? Maybe you have a gas leak? If you are on time of day, then you must be aware of when you are using electricity.

It's hard to take a post like this seriously when farmerjean hasn't even said whether it was high electric usage or natural gas. A bad well pump will run continuously and really rack up the kilowatt-hours. And as was just mentioned above a small gas leak will cause a huge gas bill.
