It was a very dark time, after Belgium and France had fallen to the Nazis. Some wanted Churchill to enter into "peace" negotiations with Hitler, brokered by Mussolini. Churchill resisted, saying "never", that he would fight to the end, on the beaches, on the streets.
My mind immediately thought of Trump, when thinking of Hitler. How Hitler was a strongman, exterminated the Jews, put gay people in jail, and only wanted to promote the "master race". These are dark times. They cannot continue. I pray for light.
