Have any of you, like myself, attempted to contact Recology, (after receiving a higher bill than the one from the previous agency) at their only listed means of contact, an 800 number, and get put on hold for several minutes, then disconnected, as a robot voice said to not call back? How did this entity come to be our sole agent for curbside collection services?

Yes. I was able to leave a message with the answering service a week ago. No reply yet. Also left a message on line a few days ago. No response to that either.

Same happened to me with lack of response both calling twice in leaving a message with the answering service starting a week ago and emailing. Recology broke the lid off my garbage bin collecting almost 2 weeks ago.

Me too. Got a bill that is not only higher than the past, but is totally impossible to understand what they are talking about with their confusing line items. I just called, waited a LONG time, finally got ... you guessed it: the answering service. I had planned to call them again tomorrow (it's Saturday tomorrow, but the service said they'd be open at 7am) even tho I left a message for them to call me back ... but now, from this thread, I'm guessing that they won't. Apparently they have a contract with Sebastopol? (I live in the city limits). If we continue to be unable to reach them, I guess it means a call to the City office that is responsible for managing the disposal service contract with Recology. Wonder what department that would be ....

I finally got through on Friday and got my issue settled. And they are hiring like crazy. All the bills went up across the board and they supplying more services as well in what they recycle.

Yes, we'll pay more, they will supposedly keep more waste out of the landfill and yes they seem to be hiring. A rough start would be expected while they staff-up. Maybe I can apply for a job once my current gig is up.
