The deal would combine CVS's pharmacy and clinic business with a giant insurance company. The combination could lead to lower prices - or fewer choices - for consumers.

This is a very discouraging transition for those, like us, who have been shoved into Aetna's arms. We have no real alternative at the level of healthcare that we need. We do not want to be forced to get our pharmaceuticals from CVS.

If you are seriously upset by this, simply call CVS and tell them you will never spend another penny with them and don't. I'm going to do this tomorrow. It may not matter, but if enough folks do it, the local manager may report it to the head office.

I looked on their website and didn't see any contact info, so I'll act locally.

It's just the start.
Amazon is in talks with generics about entering.
Walgreens & Walmart sure to follow.
Realistically, it's the only way the drug stores survive in an online world (not that they should).
