Weather very favorable for firefighting efforts. There are firefighting units on scene. From the reports I have heard I believe it very Unlikely homes in Oakmont will be damaged.

Dear Sebastopol Grange and Sonoma County Farmers Guild community,

First off, I hope that you and your loved ones are safe. And thanks to those who jumped in today to make our hall available to evacuees.

Secondly, I'm writing to kick off the planning of a benefit to rally our community in support of all those who have lost and continue to lose so much in these fires. As many of you recall, a few years ago when the fires were still burning in Lake County, we organized a similar benefit and in a matter of days amassed hundreds of people and nearly $20K in aid, including emergency supplies.

We don't yet know the full extent of this new fire nor exactly what will be needed, but hopefully in the days ahead these will become clear. In the meantime, we've begun to organize. The Grange Hall has been made available for this Thursday evening, with an event set to begin at 5pm, hosted once again by the Sebastopol Grange and the Sonoma County Farmers Guild. The hall is located at 6000 Sebastopol Ave, on Highway 12, slightly outside Sebastopol on the way to Santa Rosa on the left.

All proceeds raised will be made available to victims of the fire, overseen by the executive committees of both organizations, with an emphasis on local family farmers and those suffering losses not covered by insurance. However, all requests will be considered. We will also seek donations of supplies and other needs, based on info we intent to gather over the next few days. And besides raising funds, we hope this event will offer solace for all those feeling the impact of this tragedy and solidarity for those who've been asking me all day, how can I help?

I've created a simple google spreadsheet here (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1t0kVlSmk7lgtAQ-x5DP9bd87np7airgS94sgubvzZ5U/edit#gid=0) to track the planning of this event, including an agenda, volunteers and donations. Please feel free to sign up, sign up others or to share the doc or this email with other organizers. You'll also see there is space to include ideas for the event's program and format. Or if you have more specific questions or ideas, feel free to call me.

Be safe out there,
Evan Wiig, 415-710-5692

Hi AJ!
Yesterday I spoke with a volunteer from ShareSonomaCounty, 1500 Petaluma Blvd. South in Petaluma 94952. Amy Appleton is apparently the head of the project, phone 707/765-8488. They are right NOW placing survivors in private homes, etc. They had a single female for me within a few hours! I didn't get to call them yesterday about this person so I will be talking with them today.
Please be sure to be SAFE with anybody you invite; the energies are pretty crazy right now and folks are "losing it" very easily. I can almost feel it crackling in the air, so trust your gut to tell you if something is "right" for you after your head has been telling you all its stories...
Bright Blessings,

There's a good website that is being used to register fire help needed and offered that was represented at Grange fire benefit at the Barlow last night:

https://www.waccobb.net/forums/waccobb/keep90days/2017-10-13_19-16-37.png (https://sonomacounty.recovers.org/)

Find it here: https://sonomacounty.recovers.org/

It's a national site that has separate pages for each disaster.
