Howdy,
I hhttps://www.waccobb.net/forums/waccobb/keep90days/2017-08-27_11-40-44.pngave a few questions about our bees and it's a while before the next SC Beekeepers meeting, so I'm hoping to connect with someone who can discuss an issue we're having.
Basically, lots of drones and drone cells; plenty of worker larvae, need to recheck for eggs as didn't have glasses on during last hive check. Would have seen multiple eggs per cell I think, if they had been there.
Seems to be queen-right, nice consistent pattern of honey, nectar, larvae.
Our bees didn't gather nectar/pollen from the horse chestnut trees on our place, I watched, so it's not bad nectar, unless there's another plant blooming recently that is poisonous to EHB's ??? Is Coyote Bush ok for them?
So, from what I read, could be a missing or problematic queen, or poison nectar or pollen affecting queen or brood. Other ideas? We're not very close to any vineyards or industry, thankfully.
This is a first year Italiano hive with two deeps(full) and a medium super(empty).
