1. Who in Sonoma sells a variety of fruits/veggies of non- gmo seeds;

2. What fruits/vegetables can be planted this late in the season in this Sonoma climate? Do you have a planting chart? If so, send it or the link of it, my way please.

Thanks!

Many things grow better here in the fall (planted Aug/Sep) than any other time of year. You can get excellent seeds at many places, including the Seed Bank in Petaluma.

There's a free local seed bank which has quite a few heirloom varieties. They also offer free classes. They're located at St. Anthony's Church on Robinson Rd., Sebastopol.

Soon it will be time to plant your winter veggie crop. focus on that. Go to Harmony in Sebastopol or Baker Creek seeds in Healdsburg.

Check out the Seed Bank in Petaluma. They have lots of organic and heirloom seeds and can answer your questions.

The Seed Bank carries Baker Creek seeds, which are not certified organic. They are very big into all of their stuff being GMO-free, but there's no info about growing practices. Harmony Farm Supply does carry both organic and conventional seeds, seedlings, etc - you just have to read the package. There are other local and regional seed sellers, as well.

I highly recommend the book Golden Gate Gardening. Our local Master Gardeners also have a planting chart with recommended planting dates on it.

Also, check out the National Heirloom Festival, coming up in Santa Rosa in September. It's organized by Baker Creek Seed Company (the Seed Bank folks). It's really awesome.
