LEGISLATIVE ALERT!

Please call your senator and assemblyperson tomorrow and ask them to support the bills listed below. (The full Assembly and Senate will vote on these bills this week -- between Tues., May 30th and Fri., June 2nd.)
(If you’re not sure who your senator or assemblyperson is, here is a link (https://findyourrep.legislature.ca.gov/) to find out.)

Sen. Mike McGuire, (Senate District 2), 916.651.4002 (tel:%28916%29%20651-4002)
Sen. Bill Dodd (Senate District 3), 916.651.4003 (tel:%28916%29%20651-4003)
...Here are the three Senate bills that 350 Bay Area is supporting:

SB 100 sets a target of achieving 100% renewable energy for California by the end of 2045. This bill by Senate leader Kevin de León is one of the major climate bills of 2017, confirming California’s ongoing climate leadership and pushback against Trump’s anti-climate agenda. But it faces opposition and needs support. More info

SB 150 will hold regional planning agencies more accountable for meeting California’s climate goals as they set targets for transportation, housing and land use. SB 57 will keep the gas storage facility at Aliso Canyon closed until a study is completed on the 2015 leak that forced thousands to evacuate their homes. The bill is an urgency measure requiring a 2/3 vote and has utility opposition, so it needs every possible vote. Assemblyman Jim Wood (Assembly District 2) 916.319.2002 (tel:%28916%29%20319-2002)
