So the weakening, declining American Empire bombs the weaker, struggling-for-survival countries of Syria and Afghanistan, with your tax dollars. Then it threatens the nuclear-armed North Korea. In the process it angers the stronger-than-U.S. countries of China and Russia, as well as Iran and Pakistan. What's next? Is this a death wish, folks?

Following is the headline, link to, and a small part of an article in today’s NY Times, which also appears in the Press Democrat, under the 1st headline below.

We are at risk and endangered by the wreckless, deadly practices of our current foolish civilian and military leaders. Everything that lives perishes, even Empires, like the Ottoman, British, etc. If the U.S. continues to kill so many people, the war is likely to come home. How prepared for that are you? It’s time to wake up and move more into direct action.

“North Korean official: Ready for war if Trump wants it," Press Democrat

China Warns of ‘Storm Clouds Gathering’ in U.S.-North Korea Standoff, New York Times (https://www.nytimes.com/2017/04/14/world/asia/north-korea-china-nuclear.html?&_r=0)

HONG KONG — China (https://www.nytimes.com/topic/destination/china?inline=nyt-geo) warned on Friday that tensions on the Korean Peninsula could spin out of control, as North Korea (https://www.nytimes.com/topic/destination/north-korea?8qa) said it could test a nuclear weapon at any time and a United States naval group neared the peninsula — an American effort to sow doubt in Pyongyang over how President Trump might respond.

“The United States and South Korea and North Korea (https://topics.nytimes.com/top/news/international/countriesandterritories/northkorea/index.html?inline=nyt-geo) are engaging in tit for tat, with swords drawn and bows bent, and there have been storm clouds gathering,” China (https://topics.nytimes.com/top/news/international/countriesandterritories/china/index.html?inline=nyt-geo)’s foreign minister, Wang Yi, said in Beijing, according to Xinhua (https://news.xinhuanet.com/politics/2017-04/14/c_1120812558.htm), the state news agency.

“If they let war break out on the peninsula, they must shoulder that historical culpability and pay the corresponding price for this,” Mr. Wang said.

The comments were unusually blunt from China, which has been trying to steer between the Trump administration’s demands for it to do more to stop North Korea’s nuclear weapons (https://topics.nytimes.com/top/news/science/topics/atomic_weapons/index.html?inline=nyt-classifier) program and its longstanding reluctance to risk a rupture with the North. The remarks also reflected, American experts said, an effort by the Chinese to throw responsibility for what happens back on Washington, after Mr. Trump declared, in several Twitter messages, that it was up to the Chinese to contain their neighbor and sometime partner…

The North Korean military issued a statement on Friday threatening to attack major American military bases in South Korea (https://www.nytimes.com/topic/destination/south-korea?8qa), as well as the presidential Blue House, warning that it could annihilate those targets “within minutes.”…

Our lives are always at risk and endangered with ego driven leaders. But we're seeing more consequences of the ego spinning out of control, maiming and destroying anything in it's path, in our own country, cities and counties. How can we prepare for the continuing devastation of human and animal lives against such a force? David and Goliath is a nice tale, but hardly realistic. Fighting back isn't the answer. So, what is?

Those who have enough money, can build bunkers, similar to what protects the leaders of many countries. The poor and weak among us will fall by the wayside, as those in power crush us under their military might.
Many of us are "awake" and watching, closing our meager bank accounts from unconscious banking institutions, buying local goods/services, growing our own food if possible, getting to know and helping our neighbors through our neighborhood bulletin boards, meeting with kindred spirits to form a greater resistance to the insanity that's playing out daily. These are only some of the things we can do. Everyone of us can do something, even if it's giving up one of our daily $4-5 coffees to buy a meal for a hungry person.

I wonder what are some of the things that Wacco members are doing? I just gave my last $200 to a very sick woman friend who hasn't been able to work, and is fearful of eviction. She's no longer in Sonoma County, but out of necessity had to move to Lake County, where services for the poor are so tapped out, that they don't even answer the phone anymore.

What can anyone do to prevent this?
