Build Site:Work alongside a volunteer build team, foreman, contractors and partner families to help build Habitat homes. All tools, training and safety equipment will be provided. Time commitment is variable. Commitment to one regular day a week is strongly preferred. Build shifts are Tuesday-Friday 8:00am-3:00pm; and Saturdays 9:00am-3:00pm. It is highly recommended to bring work gloves, water bottle, and a lunch.
Qualifications:
· No prior construction experience required
Ability to lift 25 pounds, bend, kneel and twist
· Willing to engage in hard physical labor and get dirty
· Must be 16 years of age or older
· Must be flexible, patient and proactive while working on build site
· Must complete Habitat for Humanity online safety course prior to construction work
Responsibilities and opportunities for learning skills can include:
· framing
· drywall
· plumbing
· electrical
· mudding/taping
· insulation
· tiling
· flooring
· vinyl siding
· painting
· landscaping
· window & door installation
