Turner is best known as a screenwriter for films like “American Psycho” and “The Notorious Bettie Page.” Now she is taking her talents to Sebastopol in the low budget, LGBTQ-friendly film, “Lost in the Middle.”
Film director Angie Powers, a Sonoma County native, describes the movie as a comedy. “(The movie) is about old friends, old ideals and old misunderstandings. It’s about gathering together, and falling apart…and gather together again,” she said in an article on Creative Sonoma’s website.
Powers is calling on the community for help in shooting the movie. She needs actors, varying in race and gender, and extras around 60 years old.
Along with actors, Powers and her colleague Elizabeth Stark need production assistants, camera and sound technicians, costume designers, hair and makeup artists, a media manager, photographer and a social media expert. In order to house the actors, they are also looking for housing in the Sebastopol area.
Being a low-budget film, they are also accepting producers for anyone who would like to fund the project.
