Tell Costco to stop investing in hate

I haven't seen this one yet.

Over 900 companies have pulled advertising from Breitbart, the extreme far right website that helped get Trump elected. This petition asking Costco to ditch Breitbart is gaining traction. Will you sign it too?

Hmm- do we have any independent information to back this up? Because I can't find any information except from a couple of far left sites... and this reminds me of controversies involving both the right and the left where companies ads end up on sites they don't agree with because of the nature of the companies they employ to place their ads.

While I don't shop at Costco... I'll say their "late" founder was someone I had a lot of respect for- and they have long led the way of the big box stores in paying employees well, providing good benefits, and on quite a few other issues. Their model is not my ideal, and they don't meet my needs. but...

...I'm not ready to condemn them without any independent evidence or even a statement from the company whether they even know they are advertising on Breitbart (if they in fact are) or if it is simply a result of a contractor placing wide ranging ad buys...

I checked the Breitbart News page and put Costco into their search engine. There were indeed ads for Costco but they were submitted by Google so maybe Costco is unaware that it is being advertised there. Probably not unaware for much longer if this petition reaches them.
