I may not mind EMF in the neighborhood, but this creeps me out. Really, people will go for this??
Wynn Las Vegas is setting a new standard on the Strip: all 4,748 guest rooms will be equipped with artificial intelligence by next summer, the company announced Wednesday.
The hotel said it will install the Amazon Echo, a standalone cylindrical device that responds to voice commands and delivers information via Alexa, its voice assistant.

for those fortunate enough to have avoided these things, they're an internet-connected, always-on microphone that sends everything they hear to Amazon. Who then pumps it through their cloud-based computers to see if there's something they might want to sell you. At least that's all they do with what they hear, no NSA or anything like that involved... no hackers of any sort would be interested, either, right?
Now that I think of it, I'm surprised that hotels haven't always offered an always-on microphone that their concierge uses to listen to whatever you do in your hotel room in case you need something. It's pretty much the same thing! someone could have been way ahead of the curve and started this eighty years ago.
