What Does Everyone Think of Asking Barry for a "Volunteer" Category?

I think volunteerism is a great thing!

What a convenient way to network at a local level for both wanted and offered volunteerism. This way people can offer their talents to those in need AND dispatch help quickly when and where it's needed.

And while I'm aware there are many volunteer websites; local, national and abroad, perhaps a volunteer category on Waccobb would bring volunteerism even closer to home within our neighborhoods.

I'm not opposed to a volunteer category, but I think it's probably best served by being included in our widely read General Community category. users could search for "volunteer" if they were looking for an opportunity.

That way reader can easily stumble up an opportunity that moves them, even though they were not looking for it.

I'm interested. Though I'm not sure it would get much activity. Right now anyone interested in volunteering with our group can read our events posts and political action posts in those forums. But no one's beating down our doors to contact us, ask about our group, or how to work with our group.

I love it! As an owner of a childcare center I would post our need for readers to our children and someone who will tape up broken ones (books, not kids :).
When I retire, I will look for places who can use my time and skills as a volunteer.
