I support Samantha Bee's desire to have this election be over. It is very painful to see the Dunning-Kruger Effect in action among so many of America's citizens. Dunning-Kruger describes a situation where stupid people do not know they are stupid. Uninformed people do not know they are uninformed. People who say about Trump "He tells it like it is" are stupid people and they don't know it.

What scares me is that Trump appeals to a very dark and unconscious force in America. Stupidity. That force can boil over into public policy like refusing to fund Planned Parenthood or forcing schools to teach creationism or refusing to accept Obamacare. Several governors embody Dunning-Kruger: Paul LePage of Maine, Rick Scott of Florida, Scott Walker of Wisconsin, and on and on. I was not alive during the Middle Ages so I can't say this for certain, but it feels like America is sinking into its own Dark Ages. Periodically this dark, unconscious force breaks through and a man (it's always men; only one mass shooting has been committed by a woman) enters a school or a store or a church and kills people. These mass murderers are possessed by the dark murderous forces that shaped America in its early days. These forces carried out lynchings and cross burnings. Cliven and Ammon Bundy and David Duke and Mitch McConnell and Sam Brownback all embody the dark unconscious murderous forces.

Yes, I can hardly wait for the election to be over. I pray that America will begin to work on its own problems thereafter. Universal health care, corporate greed, corporate crime, a defense (sic) industry out of control, infrastructure decay, global warming, alternative energy. America has a lot of work to do.

The dark force is very destructive. It is easily observable in the phenomenon of Lulz. Lulz is fun, laughter, or amusement usually at someone else's expense. What scares me about the Trump movement is that Trump supports "know" at some deep unconscious level that Trump will destroy America, and they support him anyway. These people are driven by envy. Envy is the emotion that seeks to destroy what it cannot have. White, poor, uneducated American males envy the success of the 1%. The middle class is all but gone. They see Trump having three wives. Living the big life. They know the rest of the billionaire class lives like Trump. They know Trump will destroy America and so they will vote for him for the Lulz, for the amusement of seeing this beautiful (and flawed) experiment in democracy ruined, destroyed like Syria.
