August 2, 2016, Alameda County, California, finalized its fracking ban, the first in the Bay Area.
The county’s Board of Supervisors voted unanimously (https://www.mercurynews.com/ci_30145302/alameda-county-set-vote-fracking-ban) to pass Zoning Ordinance Amendment (https://www.sunflower-alliance.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/Alameda-Oil-and-Gas-Ordinance.pdf) July 19;
this second unanimous vote solidifies it. The ban takes effect in 30 days.
