View Full Version : Recycle a weed eater?

We have a broken weed eater from a couple of years ago or so and I'm wondering if there is some way to recycle this or if there is some location that recycles stuff like this?

I'd hate to see that this piece of machinery simply has to end up being tossed in the garbage. The motor doesn't seem to work anymore. (No, I'm not going to fix it.)

Thanks, Edward

both most likely have recycle bins, you might call them other wise you can drop it off free at the metal recycle at Meacham or Guerneville dumps

Thad, I called the Stihl dealer you listed and they said that they take donations (they won't pay you any money) to see if they can get something out of them and if not then they worry about getting rid of it.

I just learned from calling around that there is a recycling/scrap metal location on Santa Rosa Avenue, towards the end; they will also take broken junk and other stuff.

Thanks for your feedback.

You can take it to the recycle area at the Sonoma County Landfill on Meacham Rd. in Petaluma and they'll sell it. I have gotten lots of good weedeaters there. Someone will know how to fix it.

Thanks, but I already tossed it at that place on Santa Rosa Ave yesterday. I'm not sure what they call that place but it's on the right hand side if you're going south on SR Ave, passed the Todd Rd exit from 101. It is shortly after SR Ave transitions from two lanes to just one lane.

This place is rather large, much to my surprise, and they recycle all kinds of stuff. It's a good place to go if you want to sell them your aluminum (cans, etc), glass, paper, and lots of other stuff.
