I must say, this is rather intriguing!

The Russians are trying to give Americans a taste of their own medicine by posing as Americans themselves in social media and promoting a politically destabilizing figure such as Trump. Their hope is to help elect Trump and provoke an internal explosion in the US, reeking havoc and, hopefully, causing the US to split into several countries, perhaps even through civil war.

The American Right Wing has no idea that many of the "fellow citizens" online who are encouraging and agreeing with them are actually hostile Russian agents. American conservatives, without realizing it, are being used to politically destabilize the US from the inside. Many reactionary ideas, among the most extremist, have been spoon fed to conservatives by Russian agents.

The stronger conservatives become, the more this advances the hidden agenda of the Russians. And Donald Trump is a golden opportunity for the Russians to exploit for these ends.
