Please validate or discredit this figure. An acquaintance relayed to a few of us last week that he'd read (no source) that a supervisor was retiring at 62 with an annual pension of $240,000! Could this be true? He went on to say that taxpayers would be paying for this for, possibly, 20 years!

I'm not intending to start a rumor, I've just never seen any figures on their retirement. Does anyone know?

Respond, please, dg.

I think it is a misunderstanding. The only sup retiring is carrillo. He has made about 150k/yr and will get 24% of that for the rest of his life + cost of living raises and health care. There are county staff who do make 240k/yr and if they retire with 33 yrs service will receive 240k pension + cost of living raises and health care. Most likely they would be a senior deputy sheriff who puts in lots of overtime like the guy at the coast.
