On Site Auto on Todd Road. good people, honest. Chris is a Great Mechanic. have used him for years....not so cheap any longer but reasonable compared to what is around. You never get talked into work you don't need done.

What kind of car are you needing work on?
BMW's aren't typically for generalists, and hybrids are their own breed of car. I know of several mechanics, a few for particular brands of vehicles, mostly in Santa Rosa and Windsor.
BMW - GS Tuning - 284-2680
BMW - North Bay Bavarian - 545-0820
Chrysler/Dodge - Wayne & Sons Automotive - 546-3492
Chrysler/Dodge - Sinister Performance (Tuning shop) - 888-5469
Japanese brands (Honda/Nissan/Mazda/Toyota) - Auto Japan - 575-0100
Volvo/Subaru - PJ's Foreign Automotive - 571-8030
I could list my personal mechanic, but I drive to Novato for his services. They are NOT cheap, but he repairs one brand of vehicle, and he repairs them three ways:
1. Right - he's not one to throw parts at a car - he knows more than Fuji Heavy Industries knows about Subaru - and FHI builds these things.
2. Completely - he doesn't offer to jerry-rig a half-hearted fix for a problem. You're not coming back for the same problem twice, unless you're doing something your car is not designed to do.
3. The first time - No such thing as being paid to guess. He will diagnose it (right), tell you what it needs, give a fair estimate and make sure you're not coming back for the same issue.
My Subaru Forester is a 350,000+ mile testament to his abilities.
