The Story about Democratic Convention Pledged Delegates that Nobody Talks About

In case you're a Bernie Sanders supporter who has been been disheartened by some of the recent commentary about how he can't win the Democratic nomination, here are some encouraging thoughts by Dave Lindorff:


Bernie Sanders remains behind Hillary Clinton in the number of pledged delegates he has amassed over the course of just under two and a half months of primaries and caucuses. But her advantage in pledged delegates has fallen over the last month and a half from a high point of well over 300 to a current 213. (His actual gap may even be below 200 now, because or a miscount belated acknowledged by the Colorado Democratic Party there, and because while Washington state’s delegates have not yet all been allocated following the initial caucus, it is clear that the majority of unallocated ones will end up going to Sanders based on the initial caucus results.)

And that’s with 1646 pledged delegates still to be chosen in future primaries and caucuses which will begin this coming Tuesday in New York (247 pledged delegates on the line) and end on June 7 when a total of 714 pledged delegates will be up for grabs in six states and the District of Columbia.

Yes but note the last three paragraphs in the article which nails what is so seriously wrong with the Democrat Party's primary set-up, it is essentially a corrupt (intentional) method of stymieing progressive politicians and silencing the 'progressive wing' of the Democrat Party by who could best described as the entrenched Blue Dog Democrat (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_Dog_Coalition) holdouts; which I have experienced first-hand, time-and-time again. Their actions have been like counter-intelligence operatives of the right-wing and are more likely to be republican wolves in blue dog democrat 'clothing' than actual 'Democrats'.... ...Back to the article...

...particularly, the second to last paragraph which states:
"Remember that the states that have handed Hillary Clinton her continuing if shrinking pledged delegate lead are all Red states that have no chance of voting Democratic this year, or of contributing a single electoral vote to the Electoral College tally at the end of the day. The idea that those states’ primaries could determine the Democratic Party’s presidential candidate is simply outrageous, and also suicidal."
