Any adventurous knitting ladies out there? C'mon, I know you're out there.

One of my favorite bands, an international bunch from Germany called Faust which doesn't make it to this country to play very often, is playing in San Francisco on Saturday, March 19th, in a nice venue called The Chapel. Though not well known in this country, Faust have a rabid following of admirers internationally, and are legendary and influential in experimental/avant/dada/krautrock circles. They are augmenting their small band with local guest musicians in each town. Being Internet friends with one of the main members, I've volunteered to arrange some collaborators. One thing they often like to include in their performances is some knitting ladies.

That's right, we're looking for one or two more ladies (I've already lined up two) to sit and knit onstage throughout a wild concert of experimental avant-rock! Here's what the band says:

"WANTED! Knitting Ladies for faUSt .
So much more than the sound of ruminating horses or the smell of a freshly baked fruitcake or the feel of cool evening summer breeze, the sight of knitting ladies will appease any audience and soothe the stress of a frantic change-over.
WE NEED YOU! no dress-up , no acting! you may be on stage but actually you feel at home, comfortable, silent or chatting, drinking tea or gin-tonic, alone or with your knitting girlfriend …we need you natural!
Your compensation will be a feeling you will never forget : being beautifully absurd while making profound sense …"

Though legendary, Faust have never made much money, so cannot offer much remuneration. But if you would enjoy participating in what will no doubt be a wild, anarchic, childlike, intense, silly, playful, risk-taking and spontaneous event, this is your opportunity.

Check out some Faust-music on YouTube or wherever. And here's some info on the rather strange history of Faust:

Anyone interested, please call me. This should be an experience to remember.

Thanks;
