Speaking of unsustainable business, Mcdonalds is closed. Does anyone know what will happen to that site?
30 years ago we fought to keep mcd out of town, and although we kept it from being built at Hurlbut and Grav north, they managed to get it built at the present location. But out of the battle came a win, in that the community became much more activist, including the formation of Sebastopol Tomorrow.

I would love to see an Amy's organic fast food restaurant in that spot.

my understanding is that the leased site was due for code upgrades, the lease was due for renewal, and the building owner wanted mcds to pay for the code upgrades. the mcds owner declined to renew because the customer volume was low for a mcds and didn't justify the code upgrade cost. a new restaurant (asian theme), will open at the site (no drive through). we are down to bk and tb in sebtown : )
