Obama made the right speech on ISIL

If we had had McCain or another as president there is a high probability that we would be on the way back to the warring quagmire of the MiddleEast, just like under the Bush's.

Obama is one of the greatest presidents in U.S. history but no conservative or leftist is honest enough to admit it.

I am on the left also but I am not blinded by my ideology like most people are.

I'd rather you stick to the speech that Obama made. That is what this thread is about. Regarding the Democracy Now! interview, which is a good one, anyone can be criticized. If you can think of a single human being who is perfect, please tell the world and we will elect that person POTUS.

The important point here is that Obama, in his speech tonight, not only to the American people but to the world, decided that it was best not to re-invade the MiddleEast with massive troops on the ground, which is what both daddy and sonny Bush did. Those two assholes are the ones who started all of this crap and gave birth to ISIL. And many folks, including Helen Caldecott assert that Dick Cheney was the person who was really running the country, with which I tend to agree. Baby Bush was just a puppet.

So lets stick to the facts and the main point here, which is that Obama decided to spare the American people and the world another bloody engagement in Syria and Iraq with massive boots on the ground, which probably would have been in excess of 100,000 US casualties and trillions of more dollars that we cannot afford. THAT is the point to be discussed here in this thread, not the Democracy Now! interview which you posted.
