Good news! After thousands of people like you wrote emails and made phone calls telling Costco to not sell GMO salmon, they responded.
The bad news is, Costco is still dragging its feet. It won’t commit to keeping GMO salmon off its shelves.

Costco needs to catch up with its competitors. More than 60 grocery retailers, including Safeway, Kroger and Trader Joe’s, have committed not to sell GMO salmon even if FDA approves it. These other stores responded to their customers and did the right thing for the planet.
Two months ago, Costco received more than 300,000 petition signatures from people like you demanding that it join its competitors. Since then, its customer service line has received thousands of phone calls -- forcing Costco to come up with a weak statement in response. This campaign is building momentum, and you’re making a difference!
But Costco is continuing to hold out on taking real action. Despite the harm GMO salmon could cause, Costco is making slippery statements and refuses to make a firm commitment to not sell this frankenfish.

The FDA is still considering approving this risky fish. Approval would set a dangerous precedent, since GMO salmon would be the first genetically engineered animal approved for human consumption. It could pave the way for GMO pigs, chickens and cows to enter the market.
But even if the FDA approves this frankenfish, by ensuring that the world’s biggest retailers refuse to sell it, we can send a strong message that there is no market for it. Costco is one of the last remaining holdouts, so they need to hear from you today!
