Previously I had offered a Reward for a referral which would lead to a contact in the San Jose area for one of our Wacco members, and 50+ year resident of Sonoma County who could no longer find work in his tech field, and was "reluctantly" forced to leave.

His homeless journey continues to be extremely difficult, as he stands in lines at homeless shelters for a bed, that may not be available when he finally gets to the front of the line. That means sleeping outside in an unfamiliar environment. One night when he thought he'd found a safe spot, he got soaked by sprinklers and couldn't sleep because of the chill from wet clothes. He had a job interview the next day, and fortunately his clothes were mostly dry by that time.

He has chronicled his journey on his Facebook page, so if you're interested you can "friend" him. He has to be careful about who sees this because he fears that potential employers may not look too kindly at his situation. He's been encouraged to start a "Go Fund Me" campaign, but he resisted because it's hard for John to ask. Some of us can relate to this. It's a vulnerable position to be in, especially when our survival depends on it. See "John Breaks the Cycle" at https://www.gofundme.com/z6xwev4c (https://www.gofundme.com/z6xwev4c)

The wheels on the cart he's been using to transport his necessities have suffered from bumping up and down the bus entrances. And even if he could afford to replace them, he has no tools.

Since there were no referrals that came from my offer, I decided to give the "reward" money to John's Go Fund Me project. My income is limited to Social Security, but I chose to give up something that wasn't necessary for my survival, in order to help John move through an obstacle path.

I'm asking this conscious community, as I've done in the past, to open your hearts in gratitude for what you have, to help a long time member of your community. If you're selling something of high value, would you be willing to give a portion of that sale to help John? What about if I helped you sell it? I recently sold 4 pairs of shoes that were going to the thrift store, and made $200. This entire amount went to providing food for a seriously ill friend who's unable to work, and fears becoming homeless.

If you have an item that you could donate towards helping John, please let me know. I'm very good at this, and in the past have sold items of high value, which included artwork which brought $20,000 within 2 weeks of posting. Personally I have nothing of much value, but enjoy helping others sell.

Sharing what we have may mean giving up something, but helping people get up when they've fallen down, is the true spiritual practice of a compassionate heart. Prayer without good works is like a whisper in the wind. Making a real difference in someone's life stops a downward spiral which can lead to despair. It's never too soon to show gratitude for what we have, by sharing with others. My gift is my prayer for John.

My previous post:

I'm trying to expand potential views of John's post from the "Talk" category. He only has a short time left before he reluctantly leaves Sonoma County for the South Bay, after 5l years. I'm offering a reward for a referral that results in a temporary "landing pad" until he obtains employment. Although he's highly qualified in his field, he's been unable to find enough work to make a living. The South Bay offers more in this regard, so he's headed in that direction.

So, if you have any South Bay connections that might lead to a mutual exchange, please let us know.
